Building a Stronger Local Economy Economic develo Building a Stronger Local Economy

Economic development in Fairfield should be intentional, collaborative, and rooted in our community’s strengths. That means bringing together business leaders who have already succeeded here through a focused economic roundtable, learning from what works, and building on that momentum.

It also means fully leveraging our two universities, cornerstones of academia, innovation, and workforce development, not just for Fairfield, but for our entire state. As Fairfield’s chief executive I will connect education, talent, and business, create opportunity, support local jobs, and grow our economy in a way that benefits residents today and into the future.

Thank you to Nita Rao for taking the time to write Thank you to Nita Rao for taking the time to write and share her letter to the editor. Her story about a brief conversation, real follow-through, and the impact that quiet mentorship can have on a young person meant a great deal to me.

I’m grateful for her perspective and encourage others to read her letter and hear directly from a Fairfield resident about the kind of leadership our community needs.

What’s Really at Stake for Fairfield During the L What’s Really at Stake for Fairfield

During the League of Women Voters First Selectman debate, I outline the number of development proposals currently moving through the approval process and explain how these projects could affect surrounding neighborhoods. You will also hear an argument from my opponent that these concerns are moot due to Fairfield’s existing 8-30g moratorium, followed immediately by statements emphasizing apartment development being a central component of her economic development strategy.

That contrast matters. The next First Selectman will shape whether Fairfield stays on its current path or doubles down on overdevelopment despite the moratorium. This election isn’t theoretical, it will determine real decisions that affect traffic, infrastructure, and urbanization. Residents deserve clarity, honesty, and leadership that puts our community first.

UI Leadership, Looking Ahead. This clip shows bo UI Leadership, Looking Ahead.

This clip shows both of us responding to the same question about the UI monopoles proposal and why new power lines could be buried elsewhere but not in Fairfield. My opponent reflects on the past and expresses uncertainty. I focus on providing context, sharing what we know, and outlining how we continue to advocate for Fairfield moving forward.

This issue is not behind us. As First Selectman, I will keep pressing for answers, fairness, and solutions that protect our community and look to the future, Fairfielder’s should never settle for “I don’t know.”

Leadership That Puts People First This campaign i Leadership That Puts People First

This campaign is about solutions, not attacks. It’s about a Fairfield where leaders listen, plan ahead, and put residents’ needs at the center of every decision.

I’m running a campaign focused on the issues that matter most: responsible growth, safe neighborhoods, and fiscal discipline.

Together, we can build a town that is positive, hopeful, and visionary, where leadership inspires trust, creates opportunity, and truly represents our community.

I will always be there for Fairfield.

Same Question. Two Paths Forward for Fairfield. T Same Question. Two Paths Forward for Fairfield.

This reel shows both responses to the same debate question: how a First Selectman should build contingency funds without overtaxing residents or hurting our credit rating. I encourage everyone to watch both clips and decide which approach puts Fairfield’s families first.

I believe financial security starts with discipline and foresight. Building reserves doesn’t happen by chance, it requires responsible budgeting, tough choices, and experience. I’ve done this work before. In 2018, with a split legislature, I helped pass the state’s fiscal guardrails that stabilized Connecticut’s finances which created real surpluses, and allowed contingency funds to be deployed when federal SNAP benefits were interrupted. That same disciplined approach is what I will bring to Town Hall, protecting residents, respecting taxpayers, and planning ahead rather than passing costs along later.

Economic Development Vs. Overdevelopment This si Economic Development Vs. Overdevelopment

This side-by-side comparison shows both candidates responding to the same question about how to expand Fairfield’s commercial tax base. My opponent focuses her answer on developing a more “diversified housing stock”, going so far as to compare the tax revenue generated by the Alto apartment building to what GE once paid in taxes.

My response centers on a different strategy. Growing our tax base means attracting and retaining businesses, leveraging the business leaders already invested in Fairfield, and creating a climate where employers can succeed. As First Selectman, I will sit across the table from business owners and make clear that Fairfield will be a partner in their success, strengthening our economy while easing the tax burden on residents.

Hearing from a lifelong Democrat who values professionalism, experience, and a positive approach to leadership truly means a great deal to me as I run for First Selectman in the February 3rd election.

Revaluation Didn’t Happen Overnight These revalua Revaluation Didn’t Happen Overnight

These revaluation numbers were five years in the making. During that time, it was clear that home values were rising sharply, and Town Hall had ample warning. Responsible leadership means planning ahead, and taking steps early to give residents a softer landing when revaluation hits.

Now, without any additional spending, we are facing a projected 6 to 8 percent increase in taxes at a minimum. For residents already on the edge, especially seniors and others on fixed incomes, this could be the difference between staying in Fairfield and being forced to leave. We owe our neighbors foresight, fairness, and leadership that puts people first.

In this quiet, powerful moment, you see my wife walking beside me, not just as a partner in life, but as a partner in service. Her unwavering support is a reflection of the values that guide my campaign for Fairfield's First Selectperson.
Together, we walk for something greater: a deep love for this town, a belief in compassionate leadership, and a commitment to lifting up the people who make Fairfield so special. Leadership isn’t just about showing up when things are going well, it’s about standing strong when times are tough, and being there for each other with integrity, humility, and purpose.
This campaign is personal. It’s grounded in trust, fueled by gratitude, and shaped by the idea that real leadership means listening, showing up, and always putting people first.
If you believe in a Fairfield that leads with kindness, vision, and strength, I invite you to walk with me.
