Together for Fairness & Our Future

Today, at the State Capitol, I was deeply honored to stand with the Sasco Creek Neighbors Environmental Trust and residents of Southport, Fairfield, and Bridgeport—all of you mobilized to defend our neighborhoods, heritage, and environment. Governor Lamont heard us, pledged to delay the Siting Council’s decision, and committed to working toward a more equitable, transparent process.

We have come too far to let opaque decisions shift under the public’s nose, to let environmental harms be dismissed, or community voice be sidelined. Public Act 24-144 gives us the tools we need: stronger notice requirements, deeper transparency, true public involvement in facility siting—and we will use them. The fight continues until every step moving forward is in the light, with respect for the land, the people, and the future we all share.
