COVID-19 Update and DECD Info on Essential Businesses that Can Remain Open

Over the last week there has been an enormous amount of information on what Connecticut is doing in response to the coronavirus pandemic and how those actions will impact daily life for us all. It can be overwhelming and confusing. Rumors about what’s closing can also lead to panic and fear.  I wanted to share the following information to help you keep track of what’s happening and to separate fact from fiction.

Since Friday, lawmakers have heard from countless small businesses across many industries and their employees about why their services need to remain in operation. We brought these issues and explanations to the governor’s staff who worked with us to address many of these concerns, and today the governor issued new guidance expanding the definition of “essential” work to include many of the businesses who shared their stories with us.
