On February 3, Fairfield voters will choose who can successfully guide our town through financial, infrastructure, and public safety challenges. This election demands proven executive leadership and the ability to manage complex challenges effectively.
I respect my opponent, Christine Vitale, and thank her for dedicating many years to our schools and serving recently on the Board of Selectpersons. She genuinely commits to Fairfield and deserves recognition.
Voters must recognize a critical distinction. Serving on a board is not the same as leading Fairfield as Chief Executive Officer. The First Selectperson actively manages the town’s budget, oversees public safety, negotiates labor contracts, and directs nearly $400 million in day-to-day operations for more than 60,000 residents. Achievement in this position requires true experience and sound judgment.
Before holding public office, I built and ran two successful businesses. I managed budgets, handled payroll, ensured compliance, and made hiring decisions with significant impact. These experiences define my leadership. I hire based on merit, require responsibility, and focus relentlessly on results. My approach keeps Town Hall operating at its best.

For more than sixteen years, I have represented Fairfield as a State Representative and now as State Senator. I focus my work on the very issues that directly affect local taxes, services, and quality of life, including housing policy, transportation, public safety, labor costs, and infrastructure investment.
When 8-30g failed in many towns, I led bipartisan reform efforts, achieving the law’s first important amendment in thirty years. I also opposed mandates like HB 8002 that erode local zoning control and increase density without regard for Fairfield’s needs.
Affordability challenges Fairfield at its core. Rising property revaluations, utility costs, and state mandates put pressure on homeowners, seniors, and young families. We must lower spending and reduce the tax burden if we want to maintain economic diversity. Solving these issues calls for someone who is committed to disciplined budgeting, growing our commercial tax base, and who also understands state law, knows how to change it, and negotiates effectively on Fairfield’s behalf.
Public safety is central to leading Fairfield. I partnered with law enforcement to advance roadway safety, strengthen school security, and update impaired-driving laws, gaining commendation from Connecticut’s police chiefs.
Fairfield needs steady, knowledgeable, and truly independent leadership. In an era of misinformation and division, our town needs a chief executive who collaborates effectively, bases decisions on facts, and delivers results.
This election offers voters a strong choice: leadership experience and management capability. I bring a proven record of solving complex problems, managing budgets, and powerfully championing Fairfield at the state and regional levels.
On February 3rd, I respectfully ask for your vote, not because of the office I hold today, but because of the record I bring, my ability to work collaboratively for all, and the results I’m committed to delivering to the town of Fairfield.
Fairfield’s future depends on the right leader. I’m ready to go to work for you as your First Selectperson.
