Protecting Connecticut’s Water & Public Trust

Grateful to stand with legislative and municipal leaders in the cold today to demand full transparency and public scrutiny of the proposed $2.4B sale of Aquarion (Eversource) to a quasi-public Regional Water Authority (RWA). A transfer of this scale must never be rushed or hidden in cloaked legislation.

This PURA docket raises real concerns, from municipal tax losses to watershed and environmental protections to losing PURA oversight on critical issues like PFAS monitoring. Our communities deserve answers, accountability, and strong safeguards.

I’m calling for a bipartisan, open process with public hearings, independent analysis, and firm protections for ratepayers, towns, and our natural resources.

Clean, affordable water is a public trust, and we must protect it.
