Sen. Hwang: New sidewalks coming to Fairfield as part of $3.75M in state bonding

State Sen. Tony Hwang said the work on Route 130 will help ease congestion and make it safer.

He added this latest money for the Stratfield area, along with the previous bonding for the Stratfield Road and Fairfield Woods Road intersection, will make it safer for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.

The work is part of the Four Corners project that has been going on in the Stratfield neighborhood for a few years. It has been championed by a group of residents who live there.

We are fortunate in Fairfield to have a responsive Stratfield Village Association and the Fairfield Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, both of whom advocate to ease the challenges that people face using various modes of transportation in town,” Hwang said.
