NEWTOWN – Senator Hwang will join the Newtown Forest Association (NFA) to celebrate the organization’s 100th anniversary. The NFA is a private, nonprofit land trust overseeing over 1,400 acres of land dedicated to preserving forests, agricultural lands, meadows, watersheds, and other open spaces in Newtown, CT for the benefit of the community’s plants, animals, and human residents. They are the oldest private nonprofit land trust in the state, with a strong history in this community. There will also be an announcement of $20k in state grant funding secured by Senator Hwang to help with NFA’s Holcombe Hill Road restoration project.
