🚊 💰 It seemed like a reasonable request… 🚌 💰

More than 10 days ago, I urged the CT DOT to schedule public hearings in Fairfield County on proposed train and bus fare hikes and service cuts.

It seemed like a reasonable request…

…after all, a great deal of commuters live in Fairfield County.

Update: the CT DOT will NOT hold public hearings ANYWHERE in Fairfield County.

Instead, a “pop-up meeting” (not a public hearing) will be held at Stamford Station on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Sure seems like they don’t want to hear from YOU, doesn’t it?  I will attend the “pop-up meeting” and will be visiting Metro North stations in our region starting on Monday to spread the word about this disappointing news.

Email your thoughts and questions on the fare hikes and service cuts to dot.proposedtransitchanges@ct.gov and to Tony.Hwang@cga.ct.gov .

Full details on the proposed service and fare changes are available at ct.gov/dot/proposedtransitchanges.

Here is the list of in-person and virtual public hearings.
