Sen. Hwang: New CT jobs portal will help address significant workforce sector shortages

For Immediate Release

Sen. Tony Hwang (R-Fairfield), Ranking Senator on the Transportation Committee and the Insurance and Real Estate Committee as well as a former member and current active participant on the Governor’s Workforce Council, today issued the following statement regarding the Jan. 18 launch of Connecticut’s new jobs portal, jobs.ct.gov.

“Our workforce shortages are wide-ranging and significant. I hear this from our construction and financial industries as well as our bioscience, education and health care leaders. The need is everywhere, from skilled trades and manufacturing to information technology. It is encouraging to see this initiative which aims to make those key connections and reconnections. Spread the word about jobs.ct.gov and let’s fill these jobs.”
