“June is Pride Month, when the world’s LGBTQ+ communities come together and celebrate the freedom to be themselves. Pride month was kicked off in Connecticut by the CT Parentage Act being signed into law by Governor Lamont and the creation of the CT Hate Crimes Advisory Council. These are two very important steps to building a world that supports diversity and tolerance of all people.
“I want to share my awareness and appreciation for the invaluable contributions made by Connecticut members of the LGBTQ+ community to our communities and throughout the world. I am supportive of the necessary measures to ensure equality of opportunities for every Connecticut resident to be judged by the content of their character and abilities. We need to empower diversity and tolerance as a foundation toward pursuing the American dream.”
“I pledge to continue working to foster a world without hate, prejudice, stigma or bias. We must all strive to attain a greater understanding, appreciation and respect for those who live their lives proudly in public as well as those who protect the privacy of their personal life choices, all while knowing that love has no boundaries.”
