Lifelong Democrat Votes for Senator Tony Hwang

I come from a family of steadfast Democrats in Fairfield County – so much so that my father served as Speaker of the House of Representatives for the Connecticut General Assembly from 1967 to 1969. Despite my lifelong allegiance to the Democratic Party, I am proud to express my strong support for Tony Hwang’s re-election as my State Senator. Tony has consistently demonstrated the same values of civics and public service that my father embodied.

A few years ago, when our children were in middle school, my sister and I had the opportunity to tour our state’s Capitol building in Hartford, thanks to Tony. He arranged for our entire family to visit the private office of the Speaker of the House, where my father once worked. Since most of our children were too young to remember their grandfather, we were thrilled to show them where he served as Speaker of the House and to see his official portrait prominently displayed. Tony’s thoughtful gesture left us with a tremendous sense of pride in our father’s legacy of service, and we will always be grateful for Tony’s generosity, kindness, and respect for our family history, regardless of party affiliation.

This is just one example of the deep compassion and care Tony brings to his role as our State Senator. He is truly the real deal, showing up not just when the cameras are rolling, but consistently at community food drives, Rotary service projects, and local Little League games. He understands our community because he has been an integral part of it for over 30 years.

As a lifelong Democrat, I am proud to support Independent/Republican Tony Hwang for re-election as my State Senator because he has shown, time and again, that he values people above politics.
