Lane Closures Expected Weekend of April 8-10
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the start of milling and paving work in Guilford, Branford, and Fairfield. The project will consist of fine milling and ultra-thin bonded polymer-modified asphalt paving on Fairfield’s Route 135 from Route 1 (Post Road) to Route 58 (Black Rock Turnpike.)
The project will also include traffic control upgrades on U.S. Route 1 in Branford, intersection off-ramps in Guilford, and on Route 135 in Fairfield. The purpose of the project will be to maintain proper and safe roadway surfaces for the traveling public, as well as upgrade traffic signalization at various intersections along the highway and major throughways.
DOT Project 0173-0523 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. at a cost of $8,105,127.75 on March 25, 2022 and is scheduled to complete on October 21, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

Monday through Sunday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-95 northbound shoulder
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
I-95 southbound
Monday through Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-95 southbound shoulder
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
U.S. Route 135 in Fairfield
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized when needed to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
