Areas that are completely cut off by downed trees and wires include but are not limited to: Route 34 / Chestnut Hill Road, Lakeview Terrace, Black Bridge Road / Walnut Tree Hill Road, Lower Pootatuck Park /Edgelake, Currituck Road / Tunnel Road.

- The Newtown Municipal Center, located at Fairfield Hills is open Wed. to 8 p.m., Thurs. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Newtown Senior Center at 14 Riverside Rd, Sandy Hook, Mon. thru Fri. 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Cyrenius Booth Library, 25 Main Street, Newtown. Hours: Mon. thru Thurs. – 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fri. – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sat. 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sun. 12 to 5 p.m.
