Sen. Tony Hwang, who represents Sandy Hook and Newtown and the 28th Senate district, issued the following statement regarding the Nashville Covenant School tragedy:
“We are heartbroken by the horrific and senseless tragedy that took place yesterday at The Covenant School in Nashville. The world has responded to this evil act with an outpouring of love and compassion to support the healing of those affected by this tragedy and those who are struggling with the fear and anger of violence taking innocent lives. Our focus is on the victims, their families, the survivors, and the constant fight against violence. We must renew our commitment to making all of our communities safer, kinder and places of healing.”
