“I am heartbroken with profound sadness and inconsolable loss at the passing of Fairfield’s beloved Charlie Capalbo.

I pray that Charlie is finally free from the pain and suffering his body has endured in his courageous and inspirational fight against childhood cancer.

Charlie’s lasting legacy will be to remind us to continually be vigilant and relentless in supporting those affected by cancer. Equally important is a reminder that he united the broader hockey community and residents of Fairfield and throughout Connecticut to deeply care and proudly show that we are Capalbo Strong.

Personally, I am grateful to have been blessed to know Charlie and be touched by his grace and fortitude despite him enduring devastating painful chemotherapy and cancer treatments and countless dire medical prognosis.

I want to extend my condolences and prayers of support to his loving parents, Jenny & Anthony and his best friend/brother Will. Their love and sacrifices were unfathomable and unconditional.

God bless and may heavenly angels guide you to eternal peace, Charles Anthony Capalbo.”
