The Coalition Against Casino Expansion Speaks Out
I was proud to join with Former CT Congressman Robert Steele today to testify at the Public Safety and Security Committee public hearing on gambling expansion.
We noted that:
I thank and commend former Congressman Steele on his advocacy.

The public panned proposed bus and rail fare increases and service reductions at recent CT Department of Transportation meetings.
The changes would negatively impact commuters, businesses, and the local community.
Unfortunately, DOT bureaucrats can reject the public’s input.
Unfortunately, DOT bureaucrats can go right ahead and implement these unpopular measures.
Why?
Because they don’t answer to the public.
This must change!
SB 386 requires your elected state lawmakers to approve fare increases and service reductions.
Your legislative representatives answer to you.
SB 386 holds them accountable.
It’s time to make your voice heard!

A bill to prohibit CT public schools from compiling a so-called “Asian Registry” received strong support Thursday during a public hearing at the Legislative Office Building.
Hundreds of CT residents joined my fellow legislators and me to speak in favor of Bill 359.
Our message:
CT government should not mandate that Asian-Pacific American students register their ancestral nation of origin or ethnic background.
Such a mandate would be an invasion of privacy.
I thank Lin Yang, from Woodbridge, CT, for organizing Thursday’s terrific turnout.
I urge you to join us in speaking out.

Thank you!
Bill 5393 would create a CT Transportation Authority.
The Authority would build, maintain and operate electronic tolling systems on CT highways.
Translation?
Bill 5393 abdicates the legislature’s responsibility to unaccountable, unelected, faceless state government bureaucrats.a
CT tolls could be everywhere if this bill passes….
….so I need you to help me stop this bill from becoming law.

Thank you!
Gov. Malloy wants to raise the conveyance tax on CT real estate sales.
Gov. Malloy’s budget chief says the tax hike “is not so great as to have an enormous impact on the real estate market.”
What do you think about that?
Are you are sick of Malloy’s proposed tax hikes?
If so:
